May 2023 – We are Whole


Have you enjoyed these short weeks with extra bank holidays? I hope so!

We have been blessed recently with a little trip to Sicily, an island full of colour, unbelievable aromas of flowering citrus trees, perched villages and towns, mad driving (by the Sicilians!), walks, chatting, meals and wine in and around Sicilian family life. I have to say I've been really inspired by the cooking there! It's all about aubergines, tomatoes, lemons, olives, olive oil, almonds, pestos (not the green one from Genoa!) and pistachios!

We were lucky to be by the sea on the east of the island just after the eclipse, and take in a full pink moon rising above the sea. It was truly beautiful. I feel so recharged and ready to put my lovely plans into action... with joy and love, and embracing every moment to its fullness!

This month I have loved the video from Dr Lipton to remind us to live in harmony with nature, simply because humans are made of trillions of cells and microbes that live in a harmonious community! We are one, we are whole!

I got so inspired by Sicilian foods and one of the main dishes is Caponata. This intrigued me as I am a lover of Ratatouille and caponata is actually a type of sweet and sour ratatouille that tends to be eaten cold as a starter on fresh bread or on the side of main meal. The combination of olives and capers with added nuts (usually almonds or pine nuts) and the roasted aubergines, mixed with fried onions, garlic and tomatoes and a dash of wine vinegar with honey is just out of this world!!

I did miss my water kefir and fermented foods though and felt keeping hydrated and taking magnesium was really important!

My mantra for this month:

We are looking for spaces to run 1 hour free talks about Health around South Wales and welcome collaborations with retreats, foodies, chefs, yoga centres, hubs, share knowledge for better natural health... and to play a part in reducing the strain on the NHS. If you know of any interested people or places, please do get in touch. We have a few talks coming up at Wild Oats in Bristol in May and Forage in Cowbridge in June

> Grouped Deliveries outside of Cardiff: We have 2 separate 'grouped deliveries' a month. Please get in touch if you live in the areas detailed below and want a Water Kefir delivery:

  • Mumbles, Swansea, Swansea Valleys to Ystradgynlais: Next run is Thursday 18th May

  • Newport, Monmouthshire and Bristol: Sat 20th of May

WORKSHOPS and Talks:

Workshops on Fermentation and Health are being planned throughout the year; they are mainly about digestive health and more will be planned from September on.

We will be running one more week of our Green Kefir : lemongrass, lime, nettle and spirulina and will move on to one with Rhubarb and Red Fruits as we approach June.
